Mrs. Carla Cox began her music studies at Nebraska Wesleyan University; she later graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas Dallas with a degree in Fine Arts. During her studies she focused on vocal performance and piano pedagogy.

Her teaching fields include piano, voice, theory, class piano and musicianship. In addition to teaching private piano, Mrs. Cox directed "Piano Ensembles" which performed at the Texas State Music Teacher's Convention, and directed "Children's Choirs" in the Dallas area. She has served as organist and pianist for her church, and most recently as the director of the Adult Hand bell choir, and the Senior Adult Choir.

Mrs. Cox is past President of both Plano Music Teachers Association (PMTA) and Carrollton Music Teachers Association (CMTA), and is a 36-year member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA). She encourages her students to participate in festivals and competitions provided by local Music Teachers Associations as part of their music education.

Mrs. Cox finds great joy and fulfillment in sharing music with her students and their families. Her teaching goals include showing students how to enjoy music and helping them develop the ability to play for their own pleasure as well as performing for others. There is nothing she would rather do!

Mrs. Cox is currently a member of CMTA, the Texas Music Teachers Association (TMTA), and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
