Retail can be a challenging job. But I love it. One of the joys of owning your own small business is knowing your customer's families. Their parents, their kids, even their pets. It is always a special "gulp" to me when I see a teenager walk into the store without a parent. I look around, search the sidewalk, then I notice the car keys in their hand and go NO WAY!!! Students grow up, go away to college, some still pursue their music others don't, but they all stop back in to say hi when they are home from school. I love it. And let's not even talk about when those kids bring their kids in for lessons!. So thank you dear patrons for being my extended special "family" .
It is shocking to realize than many people in today's society are depriving themselves of the value of playing a real instrument versus just a virtual electronic effect on an electronic device. I am not talking about keyboards or electric drums, but actually using an app to experience their only music. These devices are wonderful tools, fun and educational. But nothing compares to playing on a real keyboard or piano, a real guitar either electric or acoustic, or physical drums be they electronic or acoustic. Music needs to be felt inside your body and only the physical presence of a real instrument can truly do that. Your voice counts as a real instrument also...so sing away.
